Why Are Some Youtuber & Social Media Influencer Are Apologizing Lately?
Nov 18, 2022Well, because of the recent news event over the FTX bankruptcy (Article link), it brought to light the realistic risks of crypto currencies and crypto currency exchanges that many social media influencer have been promoting and have financially benefited from.
Many viewers trusted these social media influencers about the information they share even though they may not have been clear on how the information being pushed and shared to them may have come from a place of conflict of interests, consequently, only pay money for the social media influencer.
Yes, these social media influencer can apologize, but they are the ones already making the money while their followers are the ones at a loss right now.
From my perspective, they are apologizing for why are they are the ones making money while others who followed them ended up losing money.
With this event and others to follow, I hope it’s evidently clear the importance of real need for financial education in our schooling at every level where it’s possible.
Financial education is extremely expensive if ignored, let alone learning it as we go. It’s because it's best to learn about personal finance before we go :)
